The Blumenfeld Chart

My lecturer introduced me to the Blumenfeld chart and he suggested I use it to analyse the papers I previously read to gather research questions. I think it may also prove useful for making concrete plans for my own project.

It is a technique for representing an entire research proposal in a single table.

In a Blumenfeld Chart, each study is one row, and includes purpose, methods, and expected outcome. There are lots of variations.

My table will include the following columns:

  • Research Questions
  • Participants
  • Data Type
  • Analysis
  • Hypothesis
  • Dissemination
  • Other similar research conducted

chart

I will work on filling it out over the course of tomorrow and Thursday.
